Founder's Testimony
A Life Rebuilt
As many of you know, the Lord delivered me from a lifestyle of drug and alcohol abuse. For almost 20 years, I abused drugs and alcohol off and on. I found myself in jails, shelters, rehabs, and even living in abandoned houses. After many failed attempts to get clean, I decided to totally surrender my life to the Lord Jesus Christ. This has been the best decision of my life. I submitted myself to a ministry that helps men with life-controlling issues. I completed my commitment there and became part of the staff. I started a business for that ministry and I felt like God was saying that he had something different for me. Although this ministry was providing me with a vehicle, a very beautiful home to oversee with about 25 to 30 men to disciple and a decent income. I kept thinking about the vision God had given me. Therefore, I could not get settled. In September 2011 the leadership at that ministry released me to go and do what God was calling me to. I'm so grateful to A Better Way Ministries and its Founder, Brother John Barrows. Since leaving A Better Way Ministries the Lord has opened doors of opportunities to touch many lives in Clayton, Fayette, and Heard Counties.
I now house 15- 20 men in two discipleship training houses, located in Jonesboro and Griffin, and a Food and Resource Center in Jonesboro.
